Pop-Up Art Show at Portola Paints
Join us at Portola Paints this Tuesday on West 3rd Street for a special pop-up art show! For one night only, you’ll meet local artist Graham Sibley, and Wawi Amasha, a Kenyan visual artist. They’ll both be showing off their work, while serving special Kenyan appetizers and complimentary wine. It’s a great chance to meet the artists in person, and to hear about the unique inspirations behind both their work.
Raised in a small village in Kenya, Wãwí is known for her vibrant paintings (below), which use bold colors and striking images to tell a story of an African culture that revels in life and treasures all things natural. Modern designs and authenticity are at the core of all she creates. Wãwí is also one of the co-founders of Activate Afrika, a social movement of conscious people working together, while utilizing individual skills and talents, as a collective to build and heal Africa.
Sibley is an LA-based artist known for his watercolor paintings (seen below). While he’s a working television, film and theater actor, this pop-up event will be his first ever art show!
The show happens one night only: Tuesday, November 15th from 6-10pm at Portola Paints – 8213 West 3rd Street. Don’t miss out!
